RainWise Stormwater Solutions

Protect your home. Save money. Help the planet.

What if you could keep your basement dry, make your yard more beautiful, AND earn rebates for doing it? With the RainWise program and Gravity Waterproofing, you can.

We make it simple: install a rain garden or cistern, cut your stormwater runoff, and take advantage of rebates that often cover most—or even all—of your project cost. Better yet, we finance 50% of the project upfront, so you don’t have to worry about big out-of-pocket costs. Let’s turn rain into something that works for you.

What is RainWise?

RainWise is part of the 700 Million Gallons campaign—a community effort to keep polluted runoff out of our waterways. When it rains in the city, storm drains can become overwhelmed, sending millions of gallons of untreated water into local streams, rivers, and Puget Sound. RainWise helps homeowners be part of the solution by funding the installation of cisterns (rainwater collection tanks) and rain gardens (specially designed planted areas). These systems reduce stormwater surges, protect infrastructure, and add real value to your property.

Our Solution: RainWise

Gravity Basement Waterproofing offers RainWise-approved solutions designed to manage stormwater effectively while qualifying you for generous rebates.

Gravity Basement Waterproofing is a RainWise approved contractor, this means we are ready to work in your neighborhood, and we bring a wide range of skills and approaches to managing rainwater on your property.

Choose Your Stormwater Superpower

Rain Gardens – Nature’s Sponge

Imagine a flowerbed that doesn’t just look good but actually works. Rain gardens soak up runoff, filter out pollution, and add a gorgeous splash of color to your yard. They attract pollinators, boost curb appeal, and fight flooding all at once.

Benefits include:

  • Reduces flooding and standing water
  • Filters pollutants before they reach streams and rivers
  • Adds beauty and wildlife habitat to your yard
  • Boosts curb appeal and property value

Cisterns – Your Backyard Reservoir

Think of a cistern as a rain barrel on steroids. These large tanks capture roof runoff before it overwhelms the storm system. You can use the water for your garden or just enjoy peace of mind knowing you’ve tamed your runoff. Pair one with a rain garden and you’ve got the ultimate combo.

Benefits Include:

  • Prevents large volumes of runoff from overwhelming storm drains
  • Stores water for irrigation and landscaping
  • Works seamlessly with a rain garden for maximum benefit
  • Provides year-round functionality

Caring for Your System

Rain gardens and cisterns are long-lasting, but they do require basic care. Routine tasks like weeding, mulching, and checking overflow systems ensure they keep working beautifully year after year.

RainWise requires homeowners to maintain their systems for at least 5 years—a commitment that benefits you as much as the environment. Learn more about best practices here:

This system includes a limited 25-year warranty, with a warranty card provided upon project completion. To maintain the warranty, yearly maintenance of the system is required. The current cost for service is our 2-hour minimum charge of $300.00; please be aware that this is subject to change as our hourly rates may increase.

Financing With Care

We know upfront costs can feel daunting. That’s why Gravity Waterproofing finances 50% of each project upfront. Once your rebate is issued, you can use it to cover much of the balance—making the process practical and affordable.
Our goal is to remove financial barriers so you can choose what’s best for your home and community.

Gravity Waterproofing may offer these services separately as add-on options outside of the RainWise program. If you are interested in driveway work, additional drainage improvements, or waterproofing beyond RainWise eligibility, we are happy to provide a customized proposal.

All rebate determinations are made by the City of Seattle and King County under the RainWise guidelines, and Gravity Waterproofing cannot guarantee rebate approval or coverage amounts.
